punk

i know you've all been waiting with baited breath to hear what's going on here on the west coast. well, not much. except a heat wave that i'm loving. although it's getting a tad unbearable even for me...up to 92 degrees at one point. then braden's brother david said that it was like 110 or so in central WA, so i guess we have it easy here.

we went to a french restaurant with braden's parents on wednesday night, which also happened to be our 11th luniversary...almost a year, baby! i can't believe it's passed so quickly. weird how school consumes your life when you're in it, and then all of a sudden, you look around and you've graduated. anyway, the french restaurant was pretty good food, but it was small portions compared to what us greedy americans are used to. so when braden and i ordered our usual one plate/share deal, we were still hungry afterwards. avocados and chicken at home!

the new costco opened up on tuesday, so we went to sampling heaven. we saw our friends marissa and dave there, but quickly went our separate ways for maximum samplage. the place was packed...does that say something about laceians, that they come out in droves for free samples? is lacey so boring that the entertainment can be found at costco? ahh, the questions of life. braden and i went up and down every aisle systematically so as to partake of everything there, and i must say, we both were full to bursting when we finally got done. i don't know if anyone's heard of thomas kemper rootbeer and sundry drinks, but it's good stuff, and who can resist a rootbeer float sample? we ended up buying some of that, as well as some hot dogs that we hadn't planned on, either. so while costco ended up paying for our dinner, it was negated by those impulse items. but hey, i mean, rootbeer.

in other news, i was surprised to learn that someone besides dan and carolyn was giving grampa more great-grandchildren. yeah, um, it's not me yet; you can all be sure that i would have mom's head if she posted that about me, as she wisely realizes. rest assured that phone calls would be made.

braden and i are both speaking in sacrament meeting tomorrow. braden is, of course, looking forward to it; i, of course, am not. surprised, anyone? then braden teaches sunday school to his 13-14 yr olds, and in the last hour, i teach relief society. we ellisi are in great demand tomorrow. the bishop forgot to have me sustained for my primary calling last week, so now i have to stand up on the stand!! grr. i wouldn't mind so much if i could sit right back down, but i always get confused about how long i'm supposed to stay standing. my calling is like a coordinator for the 8-11 yr old girls' activity thing every other week. apparently there's 4 other peeps that do it, too, which is good, b/c i have very little idea of what all that entails.

dan, did i learn to bat right-handed b/c of you? b/c i can't remember; i just know that that's the way i've always done it, but now i'm trying to learn lefty, b/c that's how i should bat. i'll get more power that way, anyway. it's tough, though. it'll take a while before it feels comfortable.

we went to the ward service project today, to help out on the grounds of a high school around here. it was hard work, mulching, raking, weedwhacking, etc. but hey, free lunch. :) no, it was fun. but we are both very tired. i walked to the hospital yesterday, just b/c i felt like it, and i wanted to see how long it took. about 35 minutes, give or take. not too bad. but i definitely overextended myself. i'm trying to strengthen my leg so that i'm able to do things without it being a liability like it has been since i injured it on my mission. hopefully, i will be able to do so.

i was supposed to have a phone interview about a website testing job up north of seattle (a temp job for 4-5 weeks), but she said she was going to get back to me on tuesday, and it's saturday now. makeage-o. i'll have to email in a couple of days if i still don't hear anything back.

i have to go pick up braden soon...peace out.

Nice to have an up date from you. Glad to hear you are doing well. So who is this person having a baby that I don't know about? I'm sure it's some cousin that I wouldn't recognize anyway, but hey, no one is naming names!
