tooth

braden's tooth is really bothering him, so he needs to see a dentist asap. i have to work today, but if he needs to have surgery, i'll leave and drive him there and back. he's going to call his work and see what the deal is with benefits, b/c he never heard back and he should have them by now. i hope everything works out, b/c i'm worried about him.

my class on tuesday night lasted the entire 2 hours and 40 minutes, just like i knew it would. if i were a professor, i'd let my students out a little bit early the first class, but on the other hand, i know we have a lot of material to cover. we have a business letter to translate, a chapter to read, a 2 paragraph summary/critique of the reading and then also familiarize ourselves with the dictionaries available in the library. so there's plenty to do. i have to say, i really dislike doing the summaries/critiques...i feel like i write the same drivel every week! i recognize the reasons behind it; it's so we think critically about the article and also to make sure we do read it, but at the same time, it's my least favorite part of the class.

i went through the prof's recommendations of dictionaries and bought two yesterday. they should be coming in a week and a half or so. i wanted to get a couple more, too, but i want to ask his opinion on them, b/c they're both out of date...i hate to spend $90 on a dictionary from 1999, even if it is highly recommended.

in response to carolyn's comments about the unusual weather we've been having lately, i hope it stays! i would love to have a mild winter!
