yes, yes I can

i am 10 weeks and 4 days along right now. the little pin that we got from the pregnancy center is the exact size and shape of the feet of a 10 week old fetus. it's cute.

and here's a picture of the baby right now, although it's from the web and not our actual baby:

my symptoms had been getting worse as of a week ago, but then yesterday wasn't so bad. when i called to make an appt. with the doctor, the person making the appt was like, oh, it's normal for symptoms to get worse during the 10th week, and they usually don't get better until after the 16th week. i was thinking, i really didn't need to hear that. but then i was reassured later by other peeps that it's more like the 12th week...i know that everyone is different, so i may be sick longer than that, but i just don't need to hear about it!!

i got a surprise call from a localization company that had interviewed me back in july for a freelance job north of the city. i had thought that for whatever reason they had decided not to give me a contract, just b/c i hadn't heard from them for so long, and i knew it was in september. anyway, the person called and offered me the job starting next week. it'll go for about 10 days, heavy on the overtime. and it pays really well. i felt good about taking it, and i'm praying for good health and the energy i will need to be able to work 11 hour days with a 2 hour commute. but, i asked braden's mom to ask around and see if anyone she knows closer to that area would be willing to let me stay with them just for those days. it's not like i'd be around much! anyway, i hope it all works out, but i feel good about it. it sure was an answer to prayer! we've been praying for more financial opportunities, and it looks like things are opening up. braden, despite getting mono last week, was able to land a part-time job that i found on craigslist. it seems like at least some benefits will come through after 90 days, and he'll be able to accrue some vacation as well. plus, it's with a really respected doctor, and braden will get the lpn experience he needs. we're excited. his school starts next week.
