vacation

hey everyone! didja miss me? i know you did.
well, we are back from our honeymoon in not-quite-as-sunny-as-i-hoped florida! notwithstanding the weather, it was a nice break, and we enjoyed ourselves. i guess the hurricane a few weeks ago did quite a bit of damage; we took some pictures of that. actually, we took a ton of pictures, especially braden. he loves that sort of thing; everytime i turned around, he was taking another picture of me. :)

got my grades back...i've managed to keep my gpa the same, so i was happy about that. i really only have one more grade to get next semester.

the professor that was going to look at my case study to discuss an alternate glossary did not shoot it down entirely, so i was thrilled. i was kind of worried that she'd say, this bites, choose another text. but, she did say that i need to focus more on the author's life and experiences more than fibromyalgia itself, which means i need to go through the entire book and pick out different passages to translate. i'm glad i didn't have a ton translated already. it's not really the focus i want, but she's going to be on my committee when i defend, so i really don't have much of a choice about it.

i'm done with christmas shopping as of an hour ago. i basically did it all today, and by that i mean for extended family members. i already had some stuff for braden.

we will be up in cleveland tomorrow for church and to celebrate with the fam up there. in the morning, we'll have our own little christmas, which will be fun.

love and kisses and merry christmas to all!

no mo' finals

so i'm done with this semester, as of monday night. woohoo!! i've been looking up various translation agencies on the web, since i'll shortly start sending out resumes for work. in the meantime, i need to continue translating my case study, which actually hasn't been touched for awhile.

we're packing tonight for florida. the frisbee's out, b/c we CAN'T forget that! i'm going home soon to look up schtuff to do in ft. lauderdale, but basically, if we're outside on the beach all day every day, i'm totally down with that. i need some gorgeous weather!!

k, gotta catch the bus!

segan to

the title is a reference to a rather badly edited spanish document given to us by our translation prof. apparently microsoft word had a field day with the spanish. it should read "segĂșn lo". i pointed it out in class and was like, what the heck is going on here? also, all the accented o's were 6's. this is a prime example of why proofreading is a good thing.

so i've been reading dan's bbqtv blog, or whatever it's called. i may look around the apt. to see if i have anything to trade, but that's only if dan gets something that i want to trade him for. and josie and the pussycats, even in the actual movie form, is not something that i would even want given to me.

well, we have a meeting in one minute, so i guess i should mosey on over to where it is. we're having a student worker appreciation luncheon today....free food, gotta love it. :) this is my last day of the actual semester. i won't have to get up early for a couple of weeks, not counting sundays. i just have my one class on monday, and then the semester's totally over. all i need to do is finish a translation and write a critical analysis on it, which is due for that class, and then the semester is really and truly over. and good riddance, b/c i am quite in need of a break.

well, i heard back from the one translation company (had to remind him) and now i have to fill out a bunch of security clearance forms, and then they'll start sending me work. he apologized for not getting back, b/c things had been really busy for them.

oops, gotta run!

gone potty

in the british sense, that is. sorry i haven't been real active on here for the past couple of weeks, but the semester's almost over and things are hectic as usual. this is just a quick note, b/c braden should be here any minute to pick me up.

i have a few more things to do before the semester ends, and it's just a matter of prioritizing. thank goodness this is the last week of class. only one more crazy thursday and then i'm FREEEEEEEEEE!!! apparently we're supposed to get another project for localization (handed out tomorrow), when i was given false hope by a couple of classmates that we wouldn't have anything. i hope that's not too time-consuming. i hope to be done with everything (school-wise) by Monday night, and then i just have to meet with some professors for work as well as clean out my cubicle (we're getting new carpeting) and then i'm free until friday when we leave this frigid state of ohio. i can't wait!!

love and kisses.........
